WIB Announces 2018 Annual Board Assembly...

2018 Annual Board Assembly

NEW YORK, NY / October 9, 2018 / Women In the Boardroom (WIB), a leading global organization committed to advancing women in the workplace and into corporate boardrooms, will host its 6th Annual Board Assembly in New York on October 18, 2018. The Annual Board Assembly is an exclusive networking event that connects senior-level executive women seeking corporate board opportunities with board experts, recruiters, directors, influencers, and connectors. Over 125 attendees will be represented at the Assembly, 15% of whom are men.

“The Assembly is a unique opportunity for our accomplished and qualified members to connect with a network of supporters that can help them pursue corporate board opportunities,” said Sheila Ronning, Founder and CEO of Women in the Boardroom. “Moreover,” she added, “the combination of small structured groups and social networking at the Assembly is designed to provide the VIP attendees with valuable board connections. The recent legislation in California mandating appointment of women to corporate boards signals a seismic shift in the boardroom and portends huge opportunities for women in California and across the country as other states follow suit.”
Commenting on last year’s event, Vincent DiVito, Managing Director of Vincent L. DeVito, Inc. said, “The quality of the potential directors was excellent and the format of the event, with maximum effort on networking with shared practical advice, was very good.”

All VIP members of WIB are invited to the Assembly, which is just one of the many networking opportunities available. WIB also connects VIP members to board contacts through the Matchmaking Program and board opening notifications. Earlier this year, WIB reached a milestone in its 15-year history: its 150th corporate board seat opening. Another metric of WIB’s growth is that more than 40% of VIP members are experienced corporate directors.

The Assembly will be held at Deloitte LLP on the 40th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza (between Fifth & Sixth Avenues) in New York at 3 p.m. Visit https://boardroomwomen.wpengine.com/ to learn more about becoming a VIP member.
