Howard Brod Brownstein

Howard Brod Brownstein, CTP, is a nationally-known turnaround and restructuring professional, and regularly provides programs for Women in the Boardroom. He is President of Brownstein Corporation, which provides turnaround management and advisory services, as well as investment banking, fiduciary services, litigation consulting, investigations and valuation services. He regularly serves on the boards of directors of public and private companies, and currently serves on the boards of: P&F Industries (Nasdaq: PFIN) where he chairs the Nominating/Governance and Strategic Planning & Risk Assessment Committees, Renew Financial, where he serves as chair of the Risk Committee, and Merakey, a nonprofit with over 10,000 employees. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional, and also an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and Immediate Past President and Board Chair of the NACD Philadelphia Chapter. He has authored ninety articles and textbook chapters is a Contributing Editor at two publications, and is a regular guest-lecturer at Harvard Business School, Wharton, NYU and elsewhere. He received JD and MBA degrees at Harvard, and B.S. (Wharton) and B.A. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Denise Kuprionis, Esq.

President, The Governance Solutions Group

Denise Kuprionis founded the Governance Solutions Group, a board governance advisory practice. GSG engages directors by sharing generally accepted board governance practices and facilitating the annual board performance review.

Prior to founding GSG, Denise was The E.W. Scripps Company’s first in-house lawyer. There she established the legal department; served as corporate secretary, drafted and implemented compensation, talent development, succession and ethics, and compliance plans.

Denise has been profiled by many organizations, most recently in November 2021 when the Cincinnati Business Courier recognized her as one of their Women Who Mean Business Honorees and in 2020 when she received a Distinguished Boardroom Top (Country) Club President (Chair) award. Other notable honors include being named a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, receiving Chase College of Law Alumni Association’s Professional Achievement Award, and receiving Northern Kentucky University’s Outstanding Alumnus Award.

Deb Lorenzen

Managing Director, Head of Data Governance, Enterprise Data Management

Deb Lorenzen has been Chief Operating Officer of various portfolios for industry leaders State Street and BNY Mellon. She is currently Head of Enterprise Data Governance at State Street, the leading provider of asset intelligence to the owners and managers of the world’s capital. Prior to this role she led the Strategy & Data Governance team at State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street, as well as leading a number of infrastructure development programs. She has a proven track record for driving internal and external change programs including client, technology and human capital impacts, through periods of growth as well as consolidation. An acknowledged culture carrier and integrator, Deb is deeply experienced in complex cross-border negotiations.

Deb also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Stearns Bank N.A., a well-capitalized, $2 Billion Bank based in St. Cloud, MN. She is an Adjunct Professor in the MBA Program at Providence College, teaching coursework on how to execute strategic change in large corporate environments.

She holds an MBA from Columbia University, and Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and Journalism from Fresno State. She is an Advisory Board Member for the Global Female Leaders Summit in Berlin and speaks regularly on topics related to leadership and change management in large organizations.
