Brendan Sheehan

Principal at Global Governance Advisors

Brendan Sheehan is a business consultant, strategy analyst, business development professional and leading expert in executive compensation, public company governance, and compliance. He engages with boards and management, advising them in the areas of executive compensation, human capital management, shareholder engagement, content creation and business strategy.

As Principal and New York business development leader with Global Governance Advisors, Brendan specializes in the strategic review, valuation and innovative design of compensation and corporate governance programs that support organizational strategy and objectives, as well as shareholders’ interests.

Previously, as Senior Adviser with Caliber Corporate, he guided companies on creating unique, powerful and effective content. He helped management connect with their target audience and tell an effective and compelling story through intelligent research, surveys, custom content and in-person networking.

He was formerly Editorial Director at NACD Directorship, where he oversaw editorial content for a broad range of publications and website activities. In addition he helped develop and promote specialty conferences and events for the board member audience.

As Executive Editor at Corporate Secretary magazine he created the highly successful Corporate Governance Awards – now in its 7th year. He also helped create and launch the Canadian Governance Excellence Awards and founded the highly-regarded Governance Exchange series which currently runs in several North American cities.

His other professional experience includes being senior analyst with BoardEx in London and senior capital markets analyst at MCM CorporateWatch, specializing in high-yield bonds and asset-backed securities.

Ty Francis

VP & Publisher, NYSE Governance Services at the New York Stock Exchange

Ty Francis is a Vice President at the New York Stock Exchange where he serves as Publisher of the NYSE Governance Services division. Mr. Francis is responsible for supporting the overall strategic goals of NYSE Governance Services, including Corporate Board Member magazine and its events. Through his leadership and development of key new business relationships, Mr. Francis has grown the market leadership position for the company in the governance, investor relations and board education markets and he has been instrumental in producing new conferences and research initiatives.

Previous to his current role, Mr. Francis served as Publisher of Corporate Secretary magazine in New York. Mr. Francis also worked for Newsquest Specialist Media, a division of Gannett, where he expanded the company’s financial titles and brand development into the North American (re)insurance and banking market. He also held roles at Informa Business Information, where he managed the insurance key accounts team and at Jardine Lloyd Thomson where he worked in its Market Security and Compliance Department.

In 2014 Mr. Francis was appointed as a “Business Advocate” for Wales to the United States of America by The Right Honorable Carwyn Jones AM, First Minister of Wales to promote international investment in Wales for the Welsh Government.

Mr. Francis studied at Southampton Solent University in England. Mr. Francis attended Stanford Law School’s Director’s College, the nation’s premier executive education program for directors and senior executives of publicly traded firms and completed a program at Yale University which focused on digital and print publishing. Mr. Francis was born in Cardiff, Wales and holds both UK and US citizenship) and currently resides in New York City with his wife Alayna and his daughter Seren.
